Redmond Walton is a North County San Diego native who currently lives in Oceanside.
Prior to law school, Redmond earned his Bachelor of Science in Earth Science from UC Santa Cruz, where he was an active member of the surf team. He then pursued his Juris Doctor at California Western School of Law on scholarship, where he achieved Dean’s List honors and served as an Editor for the California Western Law Review. His article, “Not Bluffing: Resolving Doctrinal Ambiguities in California’s Natural Condition Immunity as Climate Change Heightens Risks of Injuries on Public Lands,” was published in the California Western Law Review (Vol. 58: Iss. 2, Article 7).
During law school, Redmond gained valuable experience as a Judicial Extern for Chief Federal Judge Dana Sabraw of the Southern District of California. He was also selected as a Teaching Fellow for Torts at Cal Western, providing academic guidance to his law student peers. He graduated cum laude in 2023.
Outside of his legal career, Redmond is an avid surfer. During high school and college, Redmond worked summers as an ocean lifeguard, guarding various beaches from Torrey Pines to Carlsbad.
